Help Vinay & Sameer

Vinay, we will miss you!

We were very saddened to learn that Vinay passed away on June 25th. As many of you know, Vinay was the inspiration for Sameer’s bone marrow campaign. While Vinay and Sameer were physically seperated by thousands of miles during their treatment, their transplant journey and emotional experience was one and the same. The same holds true for Vinay and Sameer’s surviving spouses, Rashmi & Reena, respectively.

Vinay and Sameer, we will remember you for your strength and courage. You are role models for all patients and families suffering from cancer. You remain in our hearts forever.

Rashmi,
One is at a loss for words after watching the ordeal that you and Vinay went through. Indeed you were blessed to handle it all with such dignity, courage, grace, hope, and realism.
Having taken care of one such patient, nephew of mine who was always dear to me, having to watch now, another one going through the same type as Vinay’s, if not totally, am able to realte to the pain and sorrow behind it all.

So sorry for the loss. Nothing else can be said, my wife had AML and passed at the same time.

I hope some sense is found, I search daily.

Today, at my work, i just opened a newspaper and read the news about vinay. I was in tears, and came to check the website about sameer too, i am in total shock..Words can’t express what i feel, even they don’t know who i am, and i did not know about them either until i checked their websites. Both of them, touched every my heart, my soul so deeply and specially the love and appreciation between them and their loved ones. Thinking about the moments of letting them go, those moments…. i can’t stop my tears today. These couples showed the power of their love, and inspired millions, and showed a way how life should be lived and appreciated…. I have no words to describe how deeply i am touched. I feel like they are my own family, the love i felt for them thru just knowing the updates about them and their spouses and family… its just wow, you guys are amazing and true heros and live example of strength and commitment, i would not stop writing but if my words could express… i really would keep on writing…u guys are in my thoughts, in my prayers, in my hearts… i feel like you guys are just sitting infront of me… its amazing how you guys reached out to millions… and i know for sure, our lives won’t be the same as ever, with the lesson and example you showed us…
